At MediaFast, we make strong efforts to help society, not only in our community, but also in our culture. Becoming certified by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) is an important accomplishment and definitely an honor.
Before stating why we believe becoming certified by the WBENC is significant, we’d like to share a little about our company and the great women and men who work at it.
Our company is fortunate to be made up of women and men who value having good relationships with their kids, spouses, co-workers, and friends. Many of us donate our time and resources to help coach and support youth sports teams, dance teams, and other groups focused on teaching the values of having a purpose, teamwork, responsibility and commitment. We’re also fortunate to be made up of people who are kind and honest, which makes them great role models. And it’s a bonus to be surrounded by such good people.
In addition, charity means a great deal to us. We feel very fortunate for our circumstances. Because of it, we’ve donated thousands of dollars and hours of our time for many years to help people who need help or could benefit from our support of worthy causes. With that said, the greatest reason why becoming certified by the WBENC is significant is because we are a company mostly owned and operated by women, and in the business world of 2020 where men still get paid more and receive more recognition on average for the same work, we needed MediaFast to be another example of why that should change.
To be clear, the men who work in our organization are appreciated. They’re also treated fairly, and valued. It’s just that for all of the big decisions that have been made, strategies that have been determined, work processes that have been conducted, and daily operations of our business, we all contribute equally based on our job descriptions and positions. Our success, and we’re grateful for how amazing it has been, has been terrific. Most of our leaders are women, and the idea of them getting less recognition or less pay just isn’t right.
Being recognized by the WBENC as being worthy of their certification is a significant way we hope to help our culture change so women and men are viewed and treated equally for doing the same work. After all, we firmly believe we’re all equally important.

Having owned Villager Magazine in Utah, I’ve worked in marketing for over twenty years.
I started writing for MediaFast in 2014, and the first time I held a Video Brochure, I instantly thought something like, “This blows away our magazine…and any other print advertising I’ve ever known. It’s like I’m holding a TV commercial in my hands. These things are amazing!”
Since then, Video Brochures, Video Mailers and Video Boxes have become marketing superstars. Writing about them is definitely a privilege, and with regards to MediaFast—with its industry-leading product quality, outstanding customer service, and phenomenal associates—I feel like I couldn’t have picked a better group of people to work with.
