Do you know about video brochures, video mailers, and video boxes but call them by different names? If yes, that’s common.
Or, are you reading this but still weren’t sure what to call them until now? That’s common too.
So, why is that? Well, because they haven’t been commercialized or around long enough for many people to know what they are.
Also because of this: You know those moments when you’re trying to find information online but aren’t sure what to call something? We’ve all been there. Well, in those moments what we typically do is make something up and just hope Google knows what we want.
That’s what has happened with these video marketing products. Then Google decided some of those variations should exist, so they made them keywords and the industry just stuck with them.
With that in mind, it’s understandable that sometimes people refer to video brochures as video books, video pamphlets, or video cards.
It’s also understandable that since they’re often mailed, they get referred to as video mailers. Sometimes even direct mail video postcards.
And when video boxes get called video sample boxes, video packages, video gift boxes, video swag boxes, or even video brochure boxes, that’s understandable too.
In fact, I could probably list 30 or more different names they get called. But instead of that, here’s a brief list not including the names referenced above:
And that list doesn’t include industry-specific names like video settlement brochures. What are those you might be wondering? It’s what some law firms call them since they use them to communicate with prospective clients, actual clients, and other legal professionals.
Other terms that are associated with them are LCD, LED, IPS and Digital. The variations are many, and my hope while writing this is to satisfy some curiosity and eliminate confusion.
Now that you know many of their aliases, here are examples.
Question: What have you been trying for marketing?
Has it been pay-per-click? What about print advertising like postcards or pamphlets that you send to your target audience?
Or, have you been trying live drop-ins with your salespeople? What about phone calls, conventions, network groups, or email marketing?
Well, if none of those strategies have produced as well as you hoped, the good news is that video brochures, video mailers, and video boxes typically outperform them. And the results aren’t even close according to our clients. To learn more, click MediaFast Testimonials.
So, what makes them super effective? It’s because videos connect with consumers, especially when they’re sent directly to members of a target audience in video marketing products. Otherwise, if they’re just posted on websites or linked to from landing pages, they don’t get nearly enough views to make much of an impact.
And if they’re sent in emails, those get deleted without being viewed more often than not.
Basically, when a video marketing product is received, recipients get excited. It’s different from other marketing media they’ve ever seen in most cases, and it piques their curiosity. Then after they open it and the video starts playing, they’re captivated.
After that, what tends to happen is they show it to others who influence their decisions—co-workers, friends, and family members— because they just can’t resist. Then your video influences more people, and soon afterwards they respond.
And if they don’t respond right away because they’re too busy, which most professionals tend to be, they’re still excited to talk to you when you follow-up. Why? Because they’re impressed. They’ve probably never received marketing media that’s anywhere nearly as interesting, and they’ll like it.

Having owned Villager Magazine in Utah, I’ve worked in marketing for over twenty years.
I started writing for MediaFast in 2014, and the first time I held a Video Brochure, I instantly thought something like, “This blows away our magazine…and any other print advertising I’ve ever known. It’s like I’m holding a TV commercial in my hands. These things are amazing!”
Since then, Video Brochures, Video Mailers and Video Boxes have become marketing superstars. Writing about them is definitely a privilege, and with regards to MediaFast—with its industry-leading product quality, outstanding customer service, and phenomenal associates—I feel like I couldn’t have picked a better group of people to work with.
