8 Variables That Affect Video Brochure Pricing

One of the first questions prospective clients ask when considering video brochures is, “How much do they cost?”

That makes sense, but since video brochures are custom-built, the question that often delivers more insight is, “What affects the price?”

Here’s why: video brochure pricing depends on several variables, including quantity, screen size, printed size, memory, buttons, manufacturing method, custom finishes, and fulfillment needs.

Some of those variables have a major impact on the final cost. Others only affect pricing slightly.

Throughout our industry, the two biggest pricing factors are typically quantity and screen size. Everything else usually has a smaller impact, but it’s still important to understand how each variable can shape the final amount on an invoice.

With that in mind, here are eight variables that affect video brochure pricing.

Quantity

Quantity is one of the biggest factors in video brochure pricing.

Specifically, the more units you order, the lower the price becomes per unit because larger orders create more efficiency in setup, component purchasing, printing, and production.

That said, since one sale often pays for an entire campaign, not every company needs to purchase a large order to achieve their goals.

For instance, some companies only need a small number of video brochures for selected prospects, donors, executives, recruits, board members, or VIP customers. Others need substantially more for larger campaigns, product launches, recruiting efforts, or event follow-up.

At MediaFast, we don’t require a minimum order. However, pricing usually becomes more cost-effective around 50 units.

Before requesting a quote, it helps to specify how the video brochures will be used now and whether additional units may be needed later. In some cases, a slightly larger order may reduce the per-unit cost and give your team more flexibility while operating your campaign.

Screen Size

Screen size is usually the other major pricing factor.

Without a doubt, the video content is what makes these products special. To deliver the best results, we’ve found that design features should all support the video as the star of the show. It’s what makes a video brochure more intriguing, engaging, and powerful than a standard printed piece, and since it’s such an important component, screen size makes a big impact on price.

Having said that, the right choice in screen size isn’t always the largest option. What truly matters is that the size fits the audience, message, design, and budget.

For instance, a larger screen can create a bigger visual impact and may be better for product demonstrations, leadership messages, patient stories, donor videos, event invitations, or presentations that need to feel especially premium. On the other hand, a smaller screen may be a better fit when budget, shareability, printed size, or campaign quantity matters more.

Printed Size and Format

The printed size and format of a video brochure can also affect pricing.

A larger printed piece uses more material and provides more room for design, messaging, product details, imagery, QR codes, calls to action, or supporting information. A smaller format may be easier to mail, distribute, store, or use as part of a larger campaign.

The printed format also affects how the video brochure feels in the recipient’s hands.

When considering size and format, some campaigns need a compact piece that’s easy to send and simple to understand. Others need a larger format that feels more substantial and gives the printed design more space to support the video message.

Important note: bigger isn’t always better. Based on client feedback, the best format is usually one that delivers the message clearly and creates the right look and feel for the audience receiving it.

Memory and Video Needs

Memory will affect pricing when a project needs more video capacity than the standard amount.

For example, standard memory in products from us allows for up to 10 minutes of video content. Depending on the project, that content can be used for one video or divided between multiple videos. But for most campaigns, 10 minutes is more than enough.

However, some projects need more capacity. A company may want to include multiple product demos, language versions, training videos, testimonials, event segments, or messages for different audiences. In those cases, upgraded memory may be necessary.

This is another reason to think through your video strategy early instead of treating it as an afterthought. While it’s true that video is the primary reason why these products work so well, strong video content can explain, demonstrate, inspire, introduce, or clarify something print simply cannot do as effectively.

With that in mind, before ordering video brochures, it helps to decide how many videos will be right for your target audience, how long they should be, and what you want each one to accomplish.

Functionality and Buttons

Buttons can affect both usability and pricing, depending on the supplier.

Buttons allow recipients to control the experience. Common functionality for buttons is volume control, pause / play, fast forward, rewind, and navigation between multiple videos.

From some video brochure suppliers, buttons cost extra. However, at MediaFast, they do not.

With us, clients can include up to 14 buttons at no additional charge, which is about as many as can sensibly fit on most video brochure layouts. That gives clients more flexibility to create the user experience they want without adding additional cost.

Having said that, buttons should still be planned thoughtfully. More buttons aren’t always better. The right number depends on how a recipient should interact with the video brochure. A simple one-video presentation may need very little functionality. A multi-video presentation may benefit from chapter buttons, volume controls, or other options.

Regardless of how many buttons you choose, the best layout keeps a video brochure simple and easy to use. That’s also why video content plays automatically when video brochures are opened.

How the Video Brochure Is Manufactured

Another variable that can affect video brochure pricing is how the piece is manufactured.

For instance, some companies use module-based manufacturing. While this can support faster turnaround, it limits the design, size, screen options, button layout, and speaker placement to exactly how it is already set in the module template.

As another option, we use component-based manufacturing, which allows for more flexibility in design, layout, screen placement, button functionality, speaker placement, and overall presentation.

That difference may not matter for every project. But when a campaign needs to feel tailored to a specific audience, message, and experience, component-based manufacturing can make a noticeable difference in the final piece.

Here’s why: it gives clients more control over how the finished piece looks, feels, and functions.

This is also where component quality matters. Two video brochures may look similar in images and in a quote, but differences in screen quality, component grade, battery, speaker, and overall construction can affect how they look, feel, and function in-person.

Custom Finishes and Enhancements

Custom finishes and enhancements will also affect the price of video brochures.

Standard pricing with us includes full-color custom printing and lamination. That already gives clients a polished, professional piece.

However, some campaigns benefit from additional finishes or design enhancements. These may include specialty coatings, foil, spot UV, soft-touch finishes, pockets, inserts, upgraded materials, or other premium details.

These enhancements are optional. If chosen, they should support the audience, message, and purpose of the campaign—not simply be added because they’re available.

For example, a luxury sales presentation, donor recognition piece, or high-value product launch may benefit from a more premium finish. A practical internal training piece or simple follow-up campaign may not need the same level of enhancement. Video brochures are already impressive as it is.

In all cases, though, the best choice is the one that matches the campaign goal and budget.

Fulfillment and Distribution Needs

Fulfillment and distribution requirements definitely affect the total project cost.

Some clients only need the video brochures produced and shipped to one location so they can distribute them themselves. Others need help with kitting, warehousing, mailing, staggered sends, address coordination, or distribution.

While these services add planning and execution, they also make a campaign much easier to manage.

For instance, a sales team may need video brochures shipped to multiple representatives. A fundraising campaign may need pieces mailed directly to donors. A healthcare campaign may need careful timing and distribution. A large campaign may need warehousing and staggered sends so follow-up can be managed properly.

At MediaFast, we offer video loading, kitting, warehousing, mailing, address coordination, staggered sends, and full distribution service.

All of that allows our clients to choose whether they want only the product or if they want help managing their campaign from initial planning through delivery.

Final Thoughts on Video Brochure Pricing

Video brochure pricing varies because video brochures are custom products.

The two biggest factors are usually quantity and screen size. Other variables that can affect price are printed size, memory, buttons, manufacturing method, custom finishes, and fulfillment needs.

Understanding those variables makes it easier to compare prices, avoid misleading surface-level numbers, and choose the right product for your campaign.

At MediaFast, we don’t want to simply sell you a video brochure. We want to help you choose the right components that will match your goals, budget, audience, and message.

Most projects can be quoted quickly after a short conversation. If you’re planning a video brochure campaign, we can help you understand your options and build a quote around what you actually need.
