MediaFast Recycles Video Brochures

Not many people know this, but we recycle video brochures. We care about the Earth, as do many of our customers, and we would like to avoid wasting its resources or being harmful to it.

Specifically, in an effort to do our part as a company, we will dismantle, repurpose, and/or recycle all of the components of video brochures even if they were not manufactured by us.

The harmful effects of mercury when released

Mercury is toxic. However, as long as it remains contained, it will not harm the environment.

Mercury is found in tubes in LCD screens and can last for what seems like forever. Unfortunately, when LCD screens are discarded, the mercury is wasted and sometimes even released if the tubes get broken.

Exposure to mercury can be toxic to the central and peripheral nervous systems of living creatures. The inhalation of mercury vapor can produce harmful effects on the nervous, digestive and immune systems as well as the lungs and kidneys. It can also be fatal.

Additionally, the inorganic salts of mercury are corrosive to skin, eyes and gastrointestinal tracts. If ingested, they may induce kidney toxicity.

Neurological and behavioral disorders may be observed after inhalation, ingestion or dermal exposure of different mercury compounds. Symptoms include tremors, insomnia, memory loss, neuromuscular effects and/or headaches as well as cognitive and motor dysfunction. Mild, subclinical signs of central nervous system toxicity have been found in people exposed to mercury in the air, and increased protein in urine and ultimately kidney failure have also occurred.

As a way to prevent the release of mercury into the environment, we will send unwanted LCD screens to secondary sellers (companies who sell video marketing products with second-hand parts), or we will repurpose or recondition them so they can be reused. Also, we will recycle and/or repurpose the paper and other components in an effort to prevent them from being wasted.

Why recycling benefits humans, animals, and the Earth

There are several reasons why recycling benefits humans, animals, and the Earth. For example, recycling helps convert old products into new, useful products. Also, by sending less trash to landfills, it helps reduce air and water pollution.

Here are some reasons why recycling is so beneficial:

  1. It reduces pollution. When humans recycle old products, fewer new products are required. As a result, energy is saved and the release of harmful gasses is reduced. This helps clean the environment as well as the air we breathe.
  2. It reduces landfills. By recycling more and wasting less, the size of landfills can be greatly reduced.
  3. It conserves materials. All new products are made from raw materials, which are procured from harvesting natural resources from the Earth. Recycling is an excellent way to help natural resources last longer.
  4. It saves energy. With less demand for new products, less energy will be used to make new ones.
  5. It saves money. By recycling old products, fewer new products will need to be purchased.

We realize many people share our concern for the environment. We believe providing an environmentally conscious way for users to discard video marketing products is a responsible course of action for us to take since we benefit so much from selling them.

Also, since we have connections to companies who use recycled and/or refurbished components in their video marketing products (even though we do not), we can streamline the process of dismantling and recycling them.

To have video brochures recycled, send them to us at Attention: GREEN

To take advantage of this service, please send any unwanted video brochures to:  MediaFast  Attention: GREEN  767 S. Auto Mall Dr  Warehouse #8  American Fork, UT 84003

We will either send them to manufacturers who use recycled and/or refurbished parts, or we will recondition them so clients who own them can reuse them.

Even though video brochures can be reprogrammed and reused, clients who want a complete new layout can have it while using the same LCD screens and other components so they don’t go to waste.
